Don't Sweat It

Have you ever seen a plant with sickly leaves? In most cases if the leaves of a plant look sick there is a problem at the root, could be a lack of water or maybe contaminated soil but the condition of the leaves are a result of what they are being feed. Our human bodies are similar in this matter, when “leaves” of sickness, poverty and destructive habits start sprouting in your life, you need to know what the root cause is. Experts will tell you that it is stress, they may go a little deeper and say that it is fear, fear of the future, fear of rejection or loss, fear of death and so on. But is fear really the root, or is there something deeper than fear?
The Bible shows us that the most fundamental cause of problems in our lives is condemnation. With condemnation comes fear, fear introduces stress that brings about the systems of the curse. This is what happened to Adam in the garden. Long before he faced poverty, sickness and eventually death, he had stress. God had told him because of his sin “In the sweat of your face you shall eat bread Till you return to the ground, For out of it you were taken; For dust you are, And to dust you shall return." (Ge.3:19). Sweat speaks of stress, but before there was stress there was fear because Adam had told God “I heard Your voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; and I hid myself." (Ge.3:10). But what had made Adam fearful? Adam only feared when; seeing his nakedness, he realized that he had sinned against God (Ge.3:7). He felt so ashamed and condemned that he hid himself. God then asked him “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree of which I commanded you that you should not eat?" (Ge.3:11). There was no one else in the garden other than Adam and Eve so I believe it was probably the devil who told Adam that he was naked. You see the devil only has a couple tricks up his sleeve; deception. (mixing truth with lies), and condemnation (deceiving you to believe you are not worthy and/or guilty of something). The devil used both of these on Adam and Eve in the garden and continues to use these on us today. The stress Adam felt was because he had condemned all mankind to sweat (feel stress) because of his disobedience. This fear made him hide from God but condemnation made him sweat.
An interesting thing about sweat in the Bible; it only appears 3 times, Ge.3:19, Eze.44:18 and Lu.22:44. In Genesis about the curse placed on mankind, in Ezekiel talking about the priests cloths, and the fact they shall not wear anything that would cause them to sweat in the presents of God (get the revelation from that) and in Luke when Jesus sweat in the garden. It’s kind of funny that the first mention of sweat and the last mention of it is in a garden, the first Adam and the last Adam. Lu.22:44, And being in agony, He prayed more earnestly. Then His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground. You might ask, “why would Jesus sweat?” Jesus was under such great stress that the pressure caused blood to come out through His sweat glands (the medical term is called hematidrosis or hemohydrosis). Remember Jesus was also 100% man and went through everything that we go through so at this point He was sweating to receive the condemnation of the world, Heb.5:8, though He was a Son, yet He learned obedience by the things which He suffered. Jesus was also 100% God and was able to put down the flesh and complete the work He was sent to do, (Lu.22:42, saying, "Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done.")Because Jesus was faithful and sweat in the garden we have been freed from the condemnation that was placed on us by the sweat Adam experienced in the first garden, Ro.5:18, Therefore, as through one man's offense judgment came to all men, resulting in condemnation, even so through one Man's righteous act the free gift came to all men, resulting in justification of life.
Condemnation is the root cause of the systems of the curse manifesting in your life. That is why you need to know that at the cross, God took all your sins, put them on Jesus and unleashed the full fury of His wrath against them until Jesus cried out, “It is finished!” All your sins have been completely punished in the body of Christ who was condemned for you. The root cause of all your problems has been dealt with. This means that the devil cannot enforce the curse in your life apart from your being deceived and receiving condemnation, so come to the place of no condemnation and no sick leaves will sprout in your life! Ro.8:1, There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. From this day forward walk free from condemnation and “Don’t Sweat It” Jesus did that for you too! Amen and Amen!
